IPv4 & IPv6 Connectivity Test

Test whether this browser can reach IP-version-specific HTTPS destinations.

Network connectivity

Check if IPv4 and IPv6 work from this browser

An IPv6-capable ISP and router can still leave a particular device or website with an IPv6 problem. This tool checks browser access to protocol-specific web resources; it does not inspect your router, prove every destination works or certify DNSSEC.

Run an IPv4 / IPv6 connection check

Click below to load two small HTTPS resources from Google's IPv4-specific and IPv6-specific hosts. Google receives the normal web request, including your public IP. No test result is saved to LinkSpeed.

IPv4-only destination

Not tested

Shows whether the browser can load an IPv4-specific resource.

IPv6-only destination

Not tested

Shows whether the browser can load an IPv6-specific resource.

Run the check above. Failures may also be caused by browser extensions, filtering, the remote service or captive portals.

What to do if an IPv6 check fails

Compare another browser and device, restart your router if appropriate, check whether your ISP provides IPv6, and verify router firmware/settings before disabling IPv6. A successful IPv6 resource load suggests a working route for that specific destination, not universal IPv6 connectivity.

For your currently observed public IP version, use What Is My IP?. For cases where sites load inconsistently, follow websites not loading troubleshooting.

Privacy: the two resource checks contact Google directly after you click Run; LinkSpeed does not store their results. Consult LinkSpeed's privacy policy and Google's privacy notice for further information.
